Audition date/time: between 10am-6pm on Nov 19th, 2022. Audition times will be emailed to registrants approx. one week prior to the audition date

Audition Location: Crescendo Academy of Music, 359 S Kalamazoo Mall # 12, Kalamazoo, MI 49007

Audition Requirements

1. Choose 2-3 minutes of an etude, solo work, or other music that best represents your ability.
2. Be prepared to play the following scales:

• • C, F, Bb and Eb concert scales – 2 octaves if possible
  • 1-2 octave chromatic scale

3. Sight reading

Additional Information:

1. There is a small registration fee of $75.00. Scholarships are available for fees, private lessons and summer music camp experiences. The scholarship form can be found on our website at kjso.org
2. Prep Winds begins January 2nd and meets in Chenery Auditorium’s Reception Rm. on Sundays from 3:00 to 4:30 PM
3. Students will be notified of results the week following auditions
4. Returning Prep Winds members in good standing are pre-accepted for 2022/23, and are required to participate in this audition for chair placement.

Prep Winds is directed by respected performing and teaching artist Jesse Williams; he will be joined by a new co-director to be named shortly. We look forward to having you join us!
