Fees and Scholarships

We strive to make music education and orchestral opportunities accessible. Unlike almost every peer institution, the KJSOs do not charge a tuition fee.  Instead, minimal fees are assessed (a general registration fee and a season-opening camp fee, for which we offer scholarships), and there is a there is a modest annual fundraising expectation per family, which can be met in several different ways (e.g. our annual citrus sale, concert ticket sales, other special fundraisers).

In addition to scholarships for our annual registration and “tune-up” camp fees, the KJSO also provides additional scholarships for our students who need financial aid for their private music lessons and for those who want to attend summer music festivals.

Scholarships are offered based on financial need. Scholarship applications are reviewed and awarded annually. If you are interested in one of our programs and would like to be considered for a scholarship, please contact us here.
